Summer in the City

This summer, students who are majoring, minoring, or otherwise concentrating in WRT can take an 8 credit block of courses in Detroit by registering for any combination of WRT 364, WRT 386, and WRT 490 for Summer II. Anchored at the new OU Riverview complex across from Belle Isle, students will spend Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 27th to August 17th exploring and writing about various cultural aspects of the city of Detroit. These courses will combine urban studies, cultural studies, ethnography, and creative non-fiction to examine Detroit as a text through writing, through photographs, through video, and through other forms of digital production.
